PhatFunk presents Figure at Glow Friday Aug2

PhatFunk is Bangkok’s dedicated Drum & Bass club night. PhatFunk collective is really passionate about D’n’B but also loves to explore Oldskool Hip-Hop, Funk, UK Garage and other underground bass music styles. Established in 2010 at Café Democ, PhatFunk moved to Glow and now to the new nightclub Grease to grow as Bangkok’s biggest monthly Drum & Bass night. PhatFunk also collaborates closely with local and international street artists through its Artist Collaboration Series flyer designs and street art exhibitions organized alongside with PhatFunk’s events. PhatFunk is comprised of 5 key members: DJs Azek, DeLorean, Orawan, Instinct and VJ Gorb Visuals.

Having just seen Joe Syntax (Med School/Hospital Records) in Grease, Sabre (Critical/Metalheadz) smashing Glow for our 3rd anniversary and our special on the Chao Phraya with Bangkok Boat Party we thought it time to bring in some fresh blood and get ourselves back on solid ground.

Friday 2nd August we’re proud to present Figure (Stuart Nombluez) a Drum and Bass DJ with 7 years experience from Bangkok Thailand.

Starting out as a Minimal/Tech-House DJ in 2007 he brings an eclectic mix of sounds from dark to liquid to his sets. He is influenced by a range of labels from Proximity Records to Shogun Audio and artists such as Spectrasoul, DBridge, Break and Icicle. Representing Gutter Rainbows records, Figure has played at numerous venues in Bangkok from bars like Circle and Apoteka, clubs including: Coloc, Mixx (formerly Ibiza), LED and Demo as well as events like BKK Skins Party and LUSH.

Moving to England in 2009, and transitioning into Drum and Bass, Figure gained a residency at Mosaic in Exeter for 3 years and opened for drum and bass duo Brookes Brothers. Listen for a range of sounds from rolling to techy vibes, spliced with soulful melodies and varied breaks, whether from non drum and bass artists like Om Unit to the classics of Calibre and Dillinja.
